How to Copy Urdu Text Without Losing Formatting
Pasting Urdu into another app can change fonts, spacing or direction. A few habits prevent most problems.
Paste as plain text
Use "Paste as plain text" or "Keep text only" to drop hidden styles. This removes odd fonts and sizes, after which you can apply your own formatting.
Check direction
If punctuation appears on the wrong side, set the paragraph to right-to-left in the destination app.
Keep the font consistent
Choose an Urdu-capable font before pasting long text. Missing glyphs show as boxes.
Watch out for
- Text coming from older non-Unicode programs, which may paste as garbled characters.
- Invisible joiner characters, which can change spacing.
Why does a phone paste look different?
Each phone has its own default Urdu font, so the same Unicode text may look different without being changed.
Conclusion
Plain-text pasting plus correct direction and font solves most copying problems.
