How to Prepare Urdu Text for Printing

A document that looks fine on screen can print badly if fonts or direction are wrong. Use this checklist.

Checklist

  1. Set paragraph direction to right-to-left.
  2. Use one Urdu font and a size that stays readable when printed.
  3. Increase line spacing; Nastaliq needs more space than English text.
  4. Check punctuation and numbers.
  5. Use print preview to confirm nothing is cut off.

Send to a print shop

If an external shop prints it, export to PDF so fonts are embedded. Otherwise the shop's computer may substitute a different font.

Proofread on paper

Print one test copy first; errors are easier to see on paper.

Conclusion

Consistent fonts, correct direction and a PDF export prevent most print problems.
