Introduction
Urdu text copied from websites, chats, PDFs and documents often carries extra spaces, English punctuation and look-alike Arabic letters. This tool tidies it in one step. It is useful for writers, editors, students and anyone preparing text for a document or website.
How to Use
- Paste your text.
- Tick the cleaning options you want.
- Press Clean text, check the result and press Copy result.
What each option does
- Extra spaces: collapses repeated spaces and blank lines.
- Punctuation: changes ? , . after Urdu letters into ؟ ، ۔ and fixes spacing around them. Decimal numbers are left alone.
- Arabic to Urdu letters: changes ك to ک, ي and ى to ی, and ه to ہ. See our article on Unicode Urdu for why this matters.
- Digits: changes Arabic-Indic digits to Urdu digits.
- Aerab and kashida: removes marks or stretching characters.
Tips
- Clean a small sample first.
- Keep a copy of the original.
- Leave aerab on for poetry or religious text.
Limitations
The tool applies fixed rules, so it cannot judge meaning. Changing ه to ہ may be wrong in some Arabic or Persian words. Punctuation rules assume ordinary Urdu sentences. Review the result before use.
